Elementary English Ael (own tailored course for Arabic students)

The purpose of this course is to introduce writing, speaking and vocabulary at the basic level. The participants are introduced to the Roman alphabet, and practice will be made at the written and pronunciation level. This will then enable the introduction of basic vocabulary and short dialogues at the sentence level.
PC2: English Communication Bel: New

This a beginner’s English course focusing on the 4 skills, reading writing, listening, speaking with grammar and vocabulary development, embedded within the materials. Personal information, the concept of time, occupations and living are some of the themes that will be covered.
PC3:
English Communication Cel: New Interchange Intro b, Jack Richards, CUP

This course focuses on the initial use of the present tense, the future for plans and the past for biographical information. Food, sports, health and shopping are some of the central themes which will develop specific word banks.
PC4:
English Communication 1: New Interchange 1a, Jack Richards, CUP

This course focuses on fluency and accuracy in the field of Introductions, Professions, Entertainment and Descriptions. Some aspects of the present and the past tense will be introduced, question formation and adverbs of frequency will also be a major part of the course.
PC5:
English Communication 2: New Interchange 1b, Jack Richards, CUP.
40 hours
This course will develop the language (grammar & vocabulary) related to physical descriptions, health, the environment, invitations and life changes. The present perfect will be introduced to describe experiences and comparative and superlative adjectives will be presented.
Lower Intermediate
PC6:
English Communication 3: New Interchange 2a, Jack Richards, CUP.

This course will focus on the themes of memory, description of past experiences, polite requests, describing technologies and expressing likes and dislikes. The main grammatical component will be new uses of the past tense, present perfect, adverbs of quantity, modal verbs, and relative clauses.
PC7:
English Communication 4: New Interchange 2b, Jack Richards, CUP.
40 hours
This course will introduce the concept of changes over time, cause and effect with if clauses, the passive and the contrast between the past simple and continuous tense. Part of the activities will evolve around, describing movies & books, speculating about future events and describing various predicaments.
Intermediate & High
PC8:
English Communication 5: New Interchange 3a, Jack Richards, CUP.
40 hours
This course will focus on the themes of friendship, career, the media, cultural differences, the environment and education. Emphasis is placed on elaborate narration about these themes, with the use of conditional clauses, the passive and a range of tenses to emphasize time changes.
PC9:
English Communication 6: New Interchange 2b, Jack Richards, CUP.
40 hours
This course will enable the participants to learn how to talk about having things done, how to give advice and make suggestions using a different register. Another aspect will be describing historical events with correct time markers in writing & speaking formats. Other elements of the course highlight the use of “if” clauses to express regrets, describing a process in various fields, using recommendations with models, and describing challenges.

English Communication 7: Clockwise Upper Int. 1a, L J Soars, OUP.
40 hours
This course will enable participants to revise the whole tense system in English, and to deal with more complex grammatical structures. The main reading themes will cover aspects of migration, tourism, global business international customs and famous people such as Bill Gates. There will be a strong emphasis on vocabulary building, discussion and writing such as informal letters, note taking skills, book reviews, report writing, formal letters, and descriptive writing.

English Communication 8: Clockwise Upper Int. 1b, L J Soars, OUP.
40 hours
This course will work on grammatical enhancement such as verb patterns, auxiliaries, emphasis and hypothising. The vocabulary components will be dealing with suffixes and prefixes, idioms, homophones & homonyms. There will be exposure to authentic reading passages, looking at famous authors, articles and factual aspects of life such as living history, atomic experiences and mysteries of the universe.
