    News From NYIT Amman April 2007

  1. A Faculty Development Workshop entitled “Myers-Briggs Typology Indicator and Student Learning Styles” was held on 27 March/07 under the supervision of Dr. Ghassan Salameh, Director Faculty Development, and Dr. Omar Imady, Dean of Students. A major aim of the workshop was to create awareness that faculty and students learn in different ways. It was a very successful experience and the organizers are to be congratulated.

  2. Dr. Kevin O’Sullivan, Director of Global Academic Administration for Middle East, visited NYIT Amman on 6-8 April 2007. He met with Program Coordinators and Directors and held a general faculty meeting where he described new Datatel IDs, access to e-library and NYIT connect, and student advising activities. Dr. Kevin’s visit was a great moral booster for all faculty.

  3. The Physical Therapy Program, under the supervision of Dr. Fuad Abdulla, had two visiting professors form the USA giving a specialized course to our students in early April/07. The Students also used the Physical Therapy facilities at JUST. Many thanks go out to Dr. Ahmed Elokda from NYIT NY for organizing this event.

  4. Dr. Jalal Atoum, Program Coordinator in Engineering and Computing Sciences, and Dr. Theo Goosen, Campus Dean, hosted a dinner in honor of Dr. Bill Mihajlovic a Professor from the School of Engineering at NYIT NY on Wednesday 21 March at the Crown Plaza.

  5. A Faculty and Staff Family Barbeque will be held at the NYIT Amman Undergraduate Campus on Friday 20 April at 12 PM.
